Competing in a two-day competition held on December 8-9, students from NIT won two silver models and two bronze medals. The full name of the event is the 4th Kangda Cup Students Industrial Design Competition of Zhejiang Province.
The competition was hosted by the Provincial Department of Education and the Economic & Information Commission of Zhejiang Province, and was organized by Zhejiang Normal University and Zhejiang Science and Technology University. The theme of this years competition was “Dreams Design Poetic Life” Its aim is to encourage students to combine industrial design technology and art in a modern style, and to add a poetic and humanistic element to everyday products.
NIT is effectively using the impetus of competing in industrial design competitions to train industrial design majors in areas of specialized knowledge. The programs goal supports the training objectives of “Three-typed Talents” and promotes the development of industrial design in Zhejiang Province.
Since 2011, students of NITs Industrial Design Department have been active in design competitions both at home and abroad, and have achieved extraordinary success. The most recently-won awards were the Red Dot Design Award, established by the Design Zentrum of Nordrhein Westfalen, an award at the International Industrial Design Competition, and the Tai Guangbao Innovation Award.
Participation in these competitions serves as inspiration for design students to learn how to apply their specialized knowledge in practical ways.
