On the evening of September 28th, the Ningbo Municipal People's Government held a gala reception to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the founding of modern China.
A number of foreign experts who reside in Ningbo were invited to attend the celebration. Other attendees included senior foreign enterprise managers, foreign business representatives with offices in Ningbo, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and overseas Chinese representatives. Three of NITs foreign teachers, Stephen Johnson, George Dunn, and Ron Zargarian, were invited to the festive dinner reception at the new Pan Pacific Hotel.
The Vice Secretary of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee, Mayor Liu Qi, hosted the reception. In his speech, Liu Qi reviewed highlights of modern Chinas 63 years of rapid development, as well as local achievements of Ningbo municipality. In behalf of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee and the Municipal Peoples Government, Liu Qi extended festive greetings and best wishes to the people of Ningbo, and to its friends all over the world who support its development, including Hong Kong and Macao compatriots, overseas Chinese, and foreign friends from all walks of life.
