On 18th October, 2012, the 3rd Teaching Skills Competition for Young Teachers was held at NIT in NB305 and NB307. The candidates were divided into two groups - Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Engineering.
The social atmosphere in the two classrooms was quite different. The candidate teachers in Humanities and Social Sciences were obviously eloquent and knowledgeable, while the group of Science and Engineering teachers seemed very professional and rigorous. There were humorous interactions between the candidates, and the judges were greeted with warm laughter.
Yuan Ping received the highest score for his curriculum "Travel Agency Management" in Humanities and Social Sciences. Yang Huimei received the top honor in Science and Engineering with the course “Low-Frequency Electric Circuits”. The two winners will later attend the Zhejiang Teaching Skills Competition on behalf of NIT.
The competition was hosted by Professor Ji Xiangxiang and Professor Jin Guanghai. The panel of judges consisted of academic experts, teacher representatives, and student representatives. Professor Jin Weiliang, President of NIT, and Professor Chen Xiaolan, Deputy Secretary, both gave short speeches before the competition in which they encouraged the young teachers and thanked them for their important contributions.
