On October 26, 2012, the 11th annual athletic meet of NIT opened with fanfare on the northern sports field. Many NIT leaders attended the opening. The schools Deputy Party Secretary, Chen Xiaolan, hosted the opening ceremony and Party Secretary, Fei Yingqin, announced the opening of the athletic event. Yang Jiangang, Vice President of NIT, delivered the opening speech.
Yang gave his best wishes for the 11th athletic meet. He also noted that the partys education policy is being fully implemented, and that sports contributes to improving students overall quality. In closing, he affirmed NITs achievements in sports and expressed his high expectations for the young athletes.
In the opening ceremony, the athlete representatives and judges took an oath to fulfill their duties responsibly at the sports event.
