From April 1st – 30th, 2011, the School of Foreign Language Studies held “The Fifth World Literary Master Week - Who is Mark Twain”.

This activity included three parts：a lecture on Mark Twain and American culture, poetry writing (in which students composed poems to tell their understandings of Mark Twain) and dramatic performances (in which the first-year students portrayed Mark Twain in their plays).
At the closing ceremony, Mr. Chen Xiaoyu, party secretary of the School of Foreign Language Studies concluded that the series of activities had exerted a positive influence on the whole school and the students learned much of American culture from Mark Twains works. Ye Qinfa, vice dean of the School of Foreign Languages Studies, said it was a good opportunity for students to learn more about foreign culture.
