On the morning of May 17th, President Jin Weiliang met with Professor Sha Wei from the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering of Queen's University Belfast and with M. Gamal Abdelmonem, the dean of the university’s Department of Engineering. Wang Yinhui, Vice-Dean of Architecture and Civil Engineering at NIT, attended the meeting along with a small group of NIT teachers.

The two sides had an in-depth discussion about future plans for cooperation. President Jin expressed his wish that both sides take full advantage of the programs for international cooperation offered by Ningbo city, and that they continue to explore innovative and mutually beneficial opportunities and modes of cooperation.

Professor Sha Wei and M. Gamal Abdelmonem were enthusiastic about the ideas for cooperative education and bold innovation, and they promised to report them to relevant leaders when they returned to Ireland. They were optimistic that a continued exchange of ideas could lead to a win-win situation. To conclude the meeting, both sides signed a memorandum outlining a proposed new exchange program.
