The final results of the 8th Zhejiang Collegiate Industrial Design Competition were announced in Wenzhou University on October 23, 2016. The team of Gui Jinsong, Jiang Yiwei, Jin Qiuyi from the School of Media and Design won the first prize for their works “Murad lamp”. The team of Zhao Jianguo, Wu Yichen, Qi Yuyan and the team of Liu Yihong, Xu Qiangwei won the third prize respectively for their works “Growing tree” and “L’insouciance”.

This competition is one of the major industrial design competitions for college students. It is sponsored by Zhejiang Education Bereau, Zhejiang Economic and Information Committee. Themed “Different flavors”, the competition emphasizes catering for consumers’ demands by solving their practical problems. Wood or fiber (leather or cloth) is the main material for this competition. The shade of “Murad lamp” was made of paper with the pattern of flowers, which features low cost and environmental protection.
