From March 24 to March 26, 2017, Li Xiuyuan, a student from the School of Foreign Languages participated in twenty-first Century “Coca-Cola Cup” National English Speech Contest in Nanjing University, and won the first prize. Ruan Bayan, the instructor from the School of Foreign Languages won the first prize as an excellent instructor.

This contest was held by the 21 Century English Daily, a branch of China Dialy, which has the widest print circulation of any English-language newspaper in China. The contest is one of the largest high-level English speech contests in China. In the semi-finals, Li Xiuyuan ranked first for his excellent performance.
