On May 7, Elsevier released its list of Chinese Most Cited Researchers in 2019, Zhejiang University Ningbo Institute of Technology (ZJUNIT) is pleased to announce that atop the list are our two scholars, Professor Yang Deren, CAS academician and ZJUNIT President, and Professor Liu Haitao, Qiushi Distinguished Professor of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Zhejiang University. ZJUNIT earns this honor for the sixth consecutive year (2014 – 2019). The two scholars stand among a total of 2,163 scholars from 242 universities and research institutions in China.

The 2019 List of Most Cited Chinese Researchers was released after a thorough analysis of Chinese scholars’ international influence based on the citation data from Scopus (www.scopus.com), a world-leading abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature owned by Elsevier. Scopus indexes masses of papers, authors and research institutions around the world. Only those scholars in the capacity of First Author or Corresponding Author who have published papers ranking top by citation for the field and with global reputation can be recognized as “Most Cited Researchers”. The successful listing is deemed as a testimony to the global influence of his/her researches and great academic contributions to the corresponding field.
