Given its contribution to researches on corrosion and protection of concrete structures in the marine environment, NingboTech was invited by the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection to co-organize the 7th Conference on Marine Materials, Corrosion and Protection and the 1st Conference on Durability of Reinforced Concrete and Facility Safety, which were held in Southeast China’s Jiangsu Province from November 6th to 8th, 2020.

With the theme of “Innovation, Durability, Safety and Mutual Benefit”, the conferences focused on the development of new marine materials and anticorrosion technologies in the hope of boosting marine economy and protecting marine eco-system. Over 630 experts and representatives including prestigious academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the meetings.

Latest research progresses in concrete durability made by NingboTech faculty members were introduced in the conferences as Professor JIN Weiliang and Professor MAO Jianghong delivered key-note speeches on technologies to improve the durability of concrete structures in chloride environment and control technologies of electrochemical repair of the durability of concrete structures respectively.

NingboTech has long been engaged in researches on protection and repair of concrete structures with staff members undertaking national research programs and offering consulting services to key engineering projects.
