The NingboTech Research Center for Smart Marine Ranching Technology and Equipment has recently been approved as an engineering research platform at the provincial level, the first of its kind for the university.

The research center, led by Professor YANG Canjun from the School of Mechanical and Energy Engineering is a high-level engineering research team co-established by NingboTech and six other entities including CCCC Water Resources and Hydropower Construction Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Mariculture Research Institute and Zhejiang Ocean University.

The research center, with a focus on developing intelligent equipment and self-powered systems for marine ranching and strengthening the wind and wave resistance of equipment, will surely help improve the R&D and industrialization of marine ranching equipment and technology in Zhejiang Province, offer technical support and service to relevant companies and consequently create a highly competitive industry of sustainable development by pooling scientific and intellectual resources.

This recently approved provincial engineering research platform, as an important part of the innovation-driven development strategy adopted by the provincial government, witnesses the university's better services to the industry of marine ranching equipment as well as regional and national economy.
