2020 Annual Meeting of Ningbo Sociological Association

The seminar of “Ningbo Experience in Modernization of Social Governance” and 2020 Annual Meeting of Ningbo Sociological Association, hosted by Ningbo Sociological Association and organized by the School of Media and Law of NingboTech, were held in Ningbo, attracting nearly 60 scholars, teachers and students from universities and research institutions across China.

Since it was one of its major tasks to better serve the regional development, the association supported some meaningful academic projects, thanks to which “Walking News” of NingboTech published My Well-off Family: China’s Well-off Families in the Eyes of People Born After 2000 via Zhejiang University Press. Professor LIU Jianmin, person-in-charge of the project, reported on the project results during the annual meeting.

Professor FANG Ruili from China Jiliang University made a report entitled “Reflections on the Participation of Colleges and Universities in the Construction of Poetry Road”, in which she introduced how far China Jiliang University had carried out research on the Road of Tang Poetry in eastern Zhejiang Province and put forward new ways for colleges and universities to make contributions to local cultural development. Professor SHI Hui from Law School of Zhejiang Wanli University introduced how to promote cooperation between mountainous and coastal regions by taking Ningbo as an example. Professor PAN Tiejun from Ningbo University of Finance and Economics elaborated on the application and development of digital twin cities in social governance.

During the sub forums, experts and scholars expressed their opinions and had intensive discussions on topics like health communication in an aging society and social governance ethics in the digital age. Associate Professor HONG Changhui from Shanghai University, Associate Professor Shao Peng from Zhejiang University of Technology, Professor Ning Hailin from Ningbo University, and Associate Professor Wang Junwei, Secretary General of the association, had in-depth exchanges with students attending the meeting on how to embark on their academic journey.
