XIA Kehong, Department Chief of Ningbo Science and Technology Bureau, and the NingboTech delegation led by LU Dongming, Vice President of the university, visited Ningbo Sci-Tech & Cultural Innovation Harbor, one of the cradles of the city’s modern industry which embodied characteristics of the port industry and held the memory of the port culture.

As an important part of the scientific innovation corridor along the Yongjiang River, Ningbo Sci-Tech & Cultural Innovation Harbor would surely become a place for “capital concentration and intellectual innovation” where the spirits of Ningbo got passed on to generations to come. The delegation learned the basic information about the innovation harbor including the history, the planning and layout, as well as business forms by watching its model. They also visited several tech or culture-related enterprises such as ByteDance and Notting Hill. In the subsequent seminar, LU exchanged views with CHU Youwei, Director of Center for Development and Construction of Ningbo Sci-Tech & Cultural Innovation Harbor, and SUN Xiongying, Director of the District Science and Technology Bureau, during which he elaborated on the research basis and development plans of NingboTech. The two sides also had in-depth discussions over ways to integrate science, technology and culture, and preliminarily agreed upon future cooperation.
