NingboTech’s first ever video conference with National Technical University of Ukraine

FENG Jianbo, Deputy Party Secretary of NingboTech discussed future cooperation in educational internationalization in the post-pandemic era with Serhiy Sidorenko, Vice President of National Technical University of Ukraine during the first ever video conference between the two universities. Other officials from both sides also attended the meeting via video links.

FENG briefed the Ukrainian side on NingboTech’s profile and priority disciplines and mentioned that the university stood ready to support comprehensive cooperation with National Technical University of Ukraine. CHENG Meng,Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, introduced NingboTech’s cooperation programs with overseas universities and elaborated NingboTech’s practices of cultivating talents. CAI Liang, Deputy Dean of the School of International Studies, introduced successful practices of spreading traditional Chinese culture, and explored feasibility of cooperation in language programs. Kostyantyn Shestopalov, a staff member from Poland, outlined the post-doctoral programs of the School of Mechanical and Energy Engineering.

The video conference is a beneficial attempt made by NingboTech to continue cooperation and exchange with overseas institutions of higher learning in the new normal of COVID-19 pandemic as all colleges and universities are faced with new challenges posed by the health crisis. The two universities will, building on this meeting, conduct intensive collaboration in areas like mechanics, energy, big data and chemical engineering.

National Technical University of Ukraine, established in 1898 and located in Kiev, capital of Ukraine, is one of the most time-honored universities of technology in the world. Among its 2,700 faculty members, 44 are national academicians and over 1,000 are professors or associate professors. Currently over 800 overseas students from more than 50 countries are pursuing their studies there.
