Co-hosted by China Academy of Digital Trade (CADT) of Zhejiang University and the School of Business of NingboTech, and co-organized by Ningbo Branch of CADT and Ningbo Institute of E-Commerce, the 58th China Forum on Digital Trade with the theme of Ningbo’s ways to participate in the building of a global digital trade center was attended by over 40 scholars and officials from government agencies, institutions of higher learning and relevant companies.

The creation of a global digital trade center is a major strategy adopted by Zhejiang Province to upgrade its free trade pilot zones and to boost the transformation of its foreign trade in the new era. Participating experts had in-depth discussions about, among others, the transformation of cross-border e-commerce, the establishment of statistical, regulatory and credit systems for the digital trade, and the supply chain management of the cross-border e-commerce. Experts reached a consensus that Ningbo must accelerate its digital economy by fully leveraging its edges in ports, foreign trade, cross-border e-commerce and manufacturing capacity as the digital economy was of great importance in the building of a new international trade center.

It is the future direction of the School of Business to digitalize its business-related subjects. As of now, research platforms closely related to the digital economy such as Ningbo Institute of E-Commerce and Ningbo Research Center for Service Outsourcing have been put in place in NingboTech. The forum officially kicks off a series of upcoming academic activities in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of NingboTech.
