At the invitation of the Polish Studies Center, WANG Fengxue from Wisers Information Limited, the world’s leading provider of Chinese media and business intelligence, delivered a lecture on text and data mining of news reports via video link on April 1st. Dr. HU Haipeng, deputy head of the center, officiated at the event.
WANG introduced the company’s search platform and public opinion monitoring platform. The former offers services like real-time retrieval of news and knowledge discovery, and the later monitoring, mining and sentiment analysis of public opinion, among others. She then demonstrated key features including data search and mining of specific news texts, real-time graph analysis and comparison, and search for buzzwords. The ensuing hands-on experience gave attendees a glimpse of how good Wisers’ databases were at retrieval.
This lecture offers science-based guidance on public opinion analysis to the Polish Studies Center, which is committed to serving China’s goal of promoting international and regional socio-economic and cultural development. The center will play a more constructive role in university development and international exchange and cooperation in the future.
