Prof. ZHAO Jiafei was appointed Qianhu Guest Professor during the ceremony presided over by TONG Weixing, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the School of Mechatronics and Energy Engineering. ZHANG Xianmin, Vice President of NingboTech, welcomed Prof. ZHAO on behalf of the university.

Prof. ZHAO then reported on his research of the development and application of hydrates in which he expounded on the research background and significance, representative research results achieved by the team he led, as well as the application of relevant techniques in pipeline inspection. He also had in-depth discussions with the attendees.

Notes: Prof. ZHAO Jiafei, doctoral supervisor, obtained his doctorate from Zhejiang University and is now working in the School of Energy and Power Engineering of Dalian University of Technology. He serves as member of the Academic Committee of Multiphase Flow of National Natural Science Foundation of China and director of Liaoning Key Laboratory of Natural Gas Hydrates. He is selected, among others, Distinguished Young Scholar of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Young Chang Jiang Scholar (Ministry of Education). His research interest lies in basic theories and application of natural gas hydrates. He has won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award, the first prize of Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education and Gold Medal AFJ Award of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva.
