The third Polish Week successfully held in NingboTech

Co-organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai and the Polish Studies Center of NingboTech, the third Polish Week and Ningbo and CEE Entrepreneurs Forum in the Post-Pandemic Era were held in NingboTech on June 10th. The events aim to showcase Ningbo's exemplary achievements in serving the economic, trade, educational and cultural cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, while helping deepen cooperation between NingboTech and universities in CEE countries.

Guests including Ms. HUO Yuzhen, Special Representative of Cooperation between China and CEE Countries, Mr. Marek Ciesielczuk and Mr. Piotr Leszczyński, Consul General and Vice Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai, Mr. CHEN Guomiao, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Ningbo Municipal People’s Government, Prof. LIU Zuokui, Deputy Director of the Institute of European Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Mr. WANG Jian, Director of the Institute of International Studies, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Dr. Andrzej Juchniewicz, Chief Representative of Polish Investment and Trade Agency in China, Academician YANG Deren, President of NingboTech, and Mr. FENG Jianbo, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of NingboTech, attended the opening ceremony.

President YANG Deren extended sincere gratitude to the guests, scholars and experts present in his welcoming speech. He mentioned that the Polish Week serves as an important platform for NingboTech to deepen educational exchanges and cooperation with CEE countries. Ms. HUO Yuzhen noted that remarkable progress has been made through joint efforts over the past nine years of the cooperation between China and CEE countries and that both sides should seize critical opportunities in the post epidemic era to carry out pragmatic cooperation. Consul General Marek Ciesielczuk strengthened the historical significance of Visegrad Group and wished for closer Polish-Sino friendship. Mr. CHEN Guomiao recognized the efforts made by the Polish Studies Center to actively integrate relevant resources like universities, think tanks and research institutions in Poland in line with Ningbo's plan for internationalization. He believed that it's imperative for Ningbo to start training relevant professionals so as to provide intellectual and educational support for future cooperation considering a severe lack of professionals of languages and cultures of the 17 CEE countries at present.

Relevant leaders, experts, scholars and corporate representatives in Ningbo gathered together for Ningbo and CEE Entrepreneurs Forum in the Post-Pandemic Era, during which they had in-depth discussions and intensive exchanges. Prof. LIU Zuokui depicted the status of and prospects for cooperation between China and Visegrad Group from the perspective of think thanks. Director WANG Jian elaborated on how to build strategic partnership with Poland and Visegrad Group as a whole in the future. Prof. JI Wengang, Director of the Polish Studies Center of Xi'an International Studies University, touched upon the current situation, experience and problems of China-Poland cooperation. The illuminating speeches and the spirited discussions and exchanges have helped the attendees better know Poland, Visegrad Group and CEE countries.

Other activities during the Polish Week include cultural and art exhibitions, CEE Goods Bazaar, academic and cultural exchanges and performances. All the activities will surely show the national conditions, culture and arts of Poland and other CEE countries from multiple dimensions. Building on the yearly Polish Week, NingboTech will further explore innovative ways of professional training and cultural exchanges so as to contribute to the cooperation between Ningbo and CEE countries.
