HU Zhengyu, Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of NingboTech University, introduced China-CEEC E-Commerce Capacity Building Cooperation Program during China-CEEC "Silk Road E-Commerce" Development Summit Forum on June 8th. He was later interviewed by China Central Television.

The program was initiated as a response to the call of CPC General Secretary XI Jinping for the establishment of a cooperation mechanism between China and CEE countries, especially the establishment of the China-CEEC e-commerce cooperation and dialogue mechanism, during the China-CEEC Summit this February. Since personnel training is an integral and important part of e-commerce dialogue and cooperation, the program, which is aimed at producing e-commerce professionals, will help facilitate the development of e-commerce in CEE countries and consolidate e-commerce cooperation between China and CEE countries.

China-CEEC E-Commerce Capacity Building Cooperation Program, following the operational mechanism of "being mediated by the government, led by universities and co-established by companies with support of industrial parks and in coordination with associations", is expected to promote exchanges and cooperation between Chinese universities and their counterparts in CEE countries in e-commerce discipline building and faculty team construction, and to strengthen capacity building training of students and entrepreneurs. A group of e-commerce professionals committed to cross-border e-commerce are expected to be produced so as to make it more convenient and efficient for CEE companies to export to China.
NingboTech, which is the leader in the program, has long been committed to e-commerce development and China-CEEC cooperation. It set up the first e-commerce undergraduate program in Ningbo back in 2004, co-established Ningbo E-Commerce Academy with Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Commerce in 2014, initiated International China and Central/Eastern Europe Institute of Logistics and Service Science, the world's first ever multilateral logistics institute, with Bialystok University of Technology in Poland in 2015, and set up the Polish Studies Center together with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Shanghai and Adam Mickiewicz University in 2017.
China-CEEC "Silk Road E-Commerce" Development Summit Forum is a major event of this year's China-CEEC Expo, a state-level expo staring from 2020. President XI Jinping sent a congratulation letter to the expo on June 8th, in which he encouraged all parties to explore cooperation potential and expand cooperation scope building on the expo. Commissioned by the People's Government of Ningbo Municipality to lead the program, NingboTech will make its due contribution to the implementation of the national strategy for China-CEEC cooperation.
