The agreement was officially signed on June 30th for the Digital GeneBank of Port Culture, a project initiated by NingboTech University, China Port Museum and China Ports & Harbors Association, and co-established by port groups across the country.
Vice President LU Dongming signed the agreement on behalf of the university. As Ningbo is "connected by ports with the rest of the world", port culture has been one of the defining cultural genes of this city. Guided by General Secretary XI Jinping's instruction to let cultural relics, history and culture speak, the project is aimed at showcasing the city's and the country's port culture featuring friendliness, inclusiveness, reciprocity, co-existence and resilience by making full use of the cultural resources boasted by China Ports & Harbors Association.
Since the GeneBank is one of the major projects orchestrated by the University's Center for Digital Culture Innovation, ZHAO Jianguo and WANG Junwei, the Center's Deputy Directors, and two research fellows, LU Huanda and GUI Jinsong, attended the signing ceremony and went to the exhibition co-organized by China Port Museum and China Ports & Harbors Association in celebration of the centenary of the Communist Party of China.
