The seminar "Cultural Genetics Decoding and Digital Empowerment: Inheriting and Innovating Culture While Seeking Common Prosperity" was held in NingboTech University on September 22nd. Co-organized by the university's Center for Digital Culture Innovation, Ningbo Culture and Tourism Institute and Ningbo Society of Sociology, the seminar is of special significance since it coincides with the university's 20th anniversary, the centenary of the Communist Party of China and the 1200th anniversary of the founding of the city of Ningbo.
Addressing the seminar, Prof. LU Dongming, Vice President of the university and Director of the Center for Digital Culture Innovation, said that a nation's rejuvenation entails both material affluence and cultural power, and mentioned that the seminar aims to explore ways to invigorate cultural innovation, promote high-level cultural development and meet the growing cultural needs of the people.
Five special guests gave keynote speeches during the seminar. GUAN Sisi from the National Research Center for Innovation of Public Cultural Service System Demonstration Zone elaborated on the construction of the demonstration zone and its future trajectory, and emphasized that the task is challenging yet important. WU Fuping, Director of the Research Center for Public Relations, Zhejiang Academy of Culture and Tourism Development, and SUN Yidong, Director of the Research Center for Qiantang River Civilization, gave speeches on the theoretical framework for cultural genetics decoding and how the Qiantang River civilization can enable quality construction of the demonstration zone for common prosperity. YI Lixin from the Publicity Department of the Communist Party Committee of Ningbo introduced the relationship between the demonstration zone for common prosperity and cultural development, and detailed problems to be resolved along the way. YI pointed out that only by prioritizing the creation of Ningbo's cultural name cards and cultural landmarks can a truly distinctive Ningbo be established and bottlenecks hampering Ningbo's cultural development be broken. YE Donghui from Ningbo Customs District reviewed the history of Ningbo Customs District and talked about its cultural value.
The illuminating thoughts shared during the seminar has helped the Center for Digital Culture Innovation to think bigger and broader.
