Addressing the ceremony, Prof. WANG Chunhui noted that Qixin Scholars shoulder the responsibility for blazing new trails, and thus need to fully embrace new technologies such as big data, keep in alignment with national strategies such as building a law-based country, and delve deeper into frontier cross-disciplinary fields. In addition, efforts should be made to build the base into a source of scientific innovation. HUANG Guangjie extended a warm welcome to two professors and briefly introduced the university's two recent strategic moves: becoming a public undergraduate-level university and setting up the School of Media and Law. Pointing out the achievements made by the Research Base for Cyberspace Governance and Rule of Law in Digital Economy since its launch, he hoped that the two professors will continue their leading role in basic research, strategic planning, cross-disciplinary integration, international exchanges, rule of law in science and technology and media integration, and that faculty and students of the School could make joint contributions towards turning NingboTech into a university that is "first-class in the province and top 100 in the country".
After the ceremony, Prof. CHENG gave a lecture on how to publish papers in international journals, during which he elaborated on the importance of publishing papers in international journals in building a first-class discipline, the language ecology of international journals, the creativity and originality in the writing of papers, and the distribution of SSCI-indexed English-written law journals.
