WANG Yidong, deputy head of Haishu District, and officials from Haishu Development and Reform Bureau, Science and Technology Bureau, Human Resources Office and Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment, Haishu Branch, visited NingboTech for discussions about the establishment of Ningbo Institute of Carbon Neutrality Technology. FENG Jianbo, deputy secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the university, HU Changxing, head of the university's Research Office, LI Pingping, head of the Regional Cooperation Office, as well as persons in charge of the Office of the Presidents, the Human Resources Office and relevant research teams attended the meeting.

FENG Jianbo gave a brief introduction to the university and then concentrated on the preliminary idea, structure and R&D team of Ningbo Institute of Carbon Neutrality Technology. HU Changxing elaborated on the technical plan for the project. The officials of the district government departments analyzed the feasibility of the institute from policy, technical and human resources aspects. WANG Yidong mentioned that in recent years, Haishu District has conscientiously implemented green manufacturing projects by focusing on energy conservation and consumption reduction. In order to build a green manufacturing system, the District has been guiding the enterprises in the region to embark on the development path featuring low energy consumption and high output while striving for intensive land use, harmless raw materials, clean production, waste recycling and low-carbon energy. Among all the prefectures and districts in Ningbo, Haishu District boasts most industrial technology research institutes, thus being quite experienced in the operation of such organizations. He hoped that Ningbo Institute of Carbon Neutrality Technology, the establishment of which enjoys huge support of the district government, could be a pace-setter contributing to the development of Ningbo and early realization of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality". To this end, the university is expected to refine the plan in order to meet the technical needs of enterprises and push for the early formation of the Institute. In his concluding remarks, FENG noted that the much-anticipated institute is supported by the university's technological strength and is a win-win move benefiting both the government and the university. The university will further refine the cooperation plan, building on which it tries to reach a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Haishu District.
