An online meeting to prepare for the successful application for key provincial-level laboratories was held on April 15. Chaired by HU Changxing, head of the Research Office, the discussion was participated in by Vice President YANG Canjun and deputy deans in charge of research affairs at different schools.
Prof. SONG Ruiyin at the School of Mechatronics and Energy Engineering shared with attendees his project application experience and walked them through all the software and hardware requirements that a lab must meet in order to be successfully selected. He suggested that schools concerned should get prepared in advance, keep in mind the time frame, encourage cooperation with a due division of labor and set up a cultivation and incentive mechanism at an early stage. GENG Jian, deputy dean of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, CHEN Genlang, deputy dean of the School of Computing and Data Engineering, and LU Junjie at the School of Mechatronics and Energy Engineering introduced the tack taken and research focus in the proposals they intended to submit.
In his concluding remarks, YANG Canjun stressed that resources should be integrated to improve the competitive edge of the projects while the university's needs be taken into consideration. He instructed schools concerned to improve their proposals through discussions and advance the process in a synergized manner.
