President YANG Deren, Vice Presidents YANG Canjun and HU Yubo, TAN Jian, chief scientist of the discipline group Smart Port and Service, and YANG Yong, chief scientist of the discipline group Digital Design and Manufacturing, visited Ningbo Municipal Development and Reform Commission (NBDRC) on May 19, where they were accorded a cordial reception by NBDRC officials including Director HE Guoqiang and Deputy Director LIU Xingjing.

President YANG gave a brief introduction to the university and its development vision, expressed gratitude to NBDRC's support for students training and discipline development, and hoped that the two sides could enhance communication and cooperation in fields like platform construction, scientific research, and student training. Following the development philosophy of "Being rooted in Ningbo with support of Zhejiang University and global vision", NingboTech is striving to turn itself into a first-class application-oriented university contributing its bit to local economic development.

Director HE Guoqiang extended a warm welcome to the visitors. He spoke highly of the university's development philosophy and achievements made and suggested that it should be actively involved in Ningbo's endeavor to establish itself as a modern coastal metropolis and key city of marine economy through the integrated development of the two discipline groups. He hoped that NingboTech could explore new ways for business-university integration and blaze a new trail as Ningbo is striving to become a pilot city for industry-education integration. It's hoped that the two sides could further enhance their communication and contribute to local economic development.

According to the consensus reached during the meeting, a cooperation mechanism will be set up.
