As autumn breezes bring refreshment and fragrance of osmanthus blossoms, NingboTech University had the pleasure to welcome its international freshmen for the 2024-2025 school year from September 2nd to 3rd. Having come all the way from 11 Asian and African countries, 28 international students gathered here at NingboTech, poised to embark on a fulfilling academic journey. This year was also the first time for the university to enroll students from six countries including Yemen, Jordan, and Uzbekistan.

Those freshmen received a warm welcome from 20 student volunteers, who, together with staff members of the International Affairs Office, provided transportation, registration, and move-in services, and answered incoming students' queries with great patience, ensuring their smooth transition to college life.

This new batch of international students is another testament to NingboTech's endeavor to advance the internationalization of higher education in this increasingly internationalized world. Since 2004, the university has offered two Sino-foreign joint programs, established partnerships with over 50 colleges and universities in more than 20 countries and regions, and engaged in initiatives such as the Erasmus+ program for faculty and student exchanges. In the spirit of embracing internationalization, in 2023, NingboTech welcomed its first batch of 25 international undergraduate students, who, driven by their fascination with Chinese culture and quest for professional knowledge, crossed oceans and mountains to gather here at the university.

Over the past one year, the university has striven to provide a vast platform for the growth of international students. They gained insights into China through in-class studies, practical activities, and discussions, and had fond memories of China through extracurricular activities such as the English corner, economic and cultural exchanges at Yiwu International Trade Market, and appreciation of art treasures enshrined at Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, Northwest China's Gansu province.

NingboTech has always attached great importance to promoting international education, training students with a global view, and fostering cross-cultural exchanges. It's believed that through those internationalization efforts, students from all over the world will thrive in a diversified environment and grow into talent with interdisciplinary knowledge and cross-cultural awareness, and ultimately contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
