Business School

Business School was firstly set up in 2001 when the university was established and reorganized in Nov. 2016.

With “Global Vision, Social Responsibility, Innovative Spirit, Practical Ability” as the mission of personnel training, we are now actively building a regional first-class business school in line with international standards. The School consists of 3 departments (i.e. Department of Finance and Trade, Department of Business Administration as well as Department of E-business and Logistics). It has 8 undergraduate majors of International Economy and Trade, Finance, E-Commerce, Financial Management, Logistics Management, International Business, Marketing, and Tourism Management, and 2 Sino-US joint program majors (Finance and International Economy and Trade). The School boasts 1 provincial first-class undergraduate major, 2 provincial emerging majors with characteristics, 1 provincial major featuring internationalization, 1 municipal key major, 1 municipal key discipline, 5 key majors with characteristics and 1 first-class discipline at the university level. Currently, there are about 2600 undergraduates in the School.

The School has 101 staff members, 78 of whom are full-time teachers. 35 are professors and associate professors, accounting for 43% of the total full-time teachers. 61 have obtained their doctoral degrees, accounting for 78%. Now it has 7 faculties selected into “Zhejiang New Century 151 Project”, 1 entitled as “Zhijiang Young Scholar of Social Sciences”, 1 selected as Candidate ofYoung and Middle-aged Discipline Leaders in provincial colleges and universities and 1 ofthe “13thFive-Year Plan” Discipline Group of the Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Program. There are other11 faculties selected into“Ningbo Leading Top Talent Training Project”, 2 into "Ningbo Philosophy and Social Science Discipline Leader Program", 3 into "Ningbo Philosophy and Social Science Discipline Young Scholar Leadership", 3 selected as candidates of"Ningbo Philosophy and Social Science Discipline Leader", 1 of Municipal Master in Ningbo and 1 of 2ndlevel of “Ningbo ‘4321’ Talents Program”.

The School has three disciplines of Applied Economics, Business Administration and Management Science and Engineering. We have developed Think Tank Platform with 8 academies such asNingbo Academy of Financial Research, Ningbo E-commerce Academy, Ningbo Tourism Development Academy, Ningbo Quality Development Academy and Ningbo Academy of Reform Research, as well as 3 research centers and 2 municipal research bases.In the past five years, the School has initiated nearly 500 programs with a total fund of more than 50 million Yuan, including 11national-level programs supported by the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC) and Soft Science Research Fund of Ministry of Science and Technology, and 44 provincial and ministerial-level programs.A total of 15 awards covering teaching, scientific research and management areas have been won, including the third prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Zhejiang Province,the third prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Ningbo city, the first prize for Teaching Achievement Award of Ningbo and the Innovation Award for Publicity, Ideological and Cultural Work of Ningbo.More than 30 monographs have gone to press, and over 60 papers have been published in top domestic journals or in foreign journals included by SCI and SSCI.

The School attaches great importance to international exchanges and is committed to exploring overseas partners. The academic programs jointly set up by the School and the University of Indianapolis (the US) have been approved by the Ministry of Education in China and the enrolled students are registered in both universities. International China and Central-Eastern Europe Institute of Logistics and Service Science established in cooperation with Bialystok University of Technology (Poland) offers an excellent platform for faculty members and students to conduct mutual visits. The School also has student exchange programs with universities around the world, such as University of California, Irvine (the US), San Diego State University (the US), University of Applied Science and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, Massey University of New Zealand, Queen's University of Belfast (UK), The University of Nottingham, Malaysia and EM Normandie Business School (France).
